Dig a Well for Young Strong Mother's Foundation
Help them become self-sustaining
When I visited YSMF in February, I was overjoyed to see the beautiful property they bought, where they have school, hostel, and training facilities. They're also raising a few goats, sheep and chickens.
What they don't have is water. It all has to be hauled in.
The gutting of USAID cut their funding dramatically this year. One of their key priorities is to become more self sustaining. They already have tailoring, hair dressing, and baking training centres that also bring in cash from selling services. I've posted some photos of my visit with descriptions HERE
With a well on the property, they could expand the agriculture, growing more of their own food and having enough livestock to sell as well as to feed the staff and clients.
They've gotten a quote, and it's over $7000 USD to put in a deep, reliable, safe, well. I'm selling these gorgeous hand carved gems to fund it.
100% of the sale price goes to the well project. I'll cover the remainder after the sale ends to be sure they get the well.
These 'Vortex' carvings were designed by award winning carver Sherris Cottier Shank. When she retired, she taught me to do them and I acquired her equipment.
Each is 10mm calibrated round, and since they're entirely hand carved, each is slightly different in size and weight.
